Material Introduction
Phosphate rock refers to any rock with a high concentration of phosphate minerals, most commonly from the Apatite group, such as Fluorapatite [Ca5(PO4)3F]. It primarily occurs as sedimentary phosphorite or igneous apatite deposits, containing varying amounts of calcium, phosphorus, and fluorine.
Physically, eggshells have a Mohs hardness of 3, making them easy to process into ultra-fine powders. They are naturally white or off-white. Chemically, the “bio-calcium” in eggshells is more easily absorbed by biological systems than geological calcium, making it highly valuable for nutrition. Once processed into fine powder, it exhibits excellent dispersibility and biodegradability.
