CLIRIK offers a comprehensive range of expanded perlite crushing and grinding systems. Our technology is designed to optimize your production efficiency, significantly reduce specific energy consumption, and meet the most stringent manufacturing requirements for various perlite-based products.

Material Introduction
Expanded perlite is an amorphous volcanic glass that has been heated to its softening point, causing the internal combined water to vaporize and expand the material up to 20 times its original volume. This “popcorn” effect creates a unique micro-structure composed of countless tiny, sealed or interconnected glass-walled bubbles.
Physically, expanded perlite is exceptionally lightweight, with a bulk density as low as 30–150 kg/m^3. It features a Mohs hardness of 5.5–7 in its original state, but the expanded form is brittle and easily crushed into fine powders. Chemically, it is highly inert, sterile, and non-toxic, consisting primarily of silica (SiO2) and alumina ( Al2O3). Its most defining industrial traits are its extremely low thermal conductivity and its ability to act as a high-efficiency physical filter. Once processed, perlite powder provides a vast surface area for absorption and creates a tortuous path for fluid filtration, making it an ideal choice for cryogenic insulation and high-purity liquid clarification.

Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC)
Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) is produced by the mechanical pulverization of natural minerals like limestone or marble. Since it involves no chemical transformation, it retains the mineral’s original stability but features an irregular, fragmented structure.

Key Properties: High density, low oil absorption, and excellent flowability.

Industrial Value: Used as a “functional filler” in plastics, rubber, and coatings. It increases volume and hardness while allowing high loading levels to significantly reduce production costs.

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC)
Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC), or light calcium carbonate, is a synthetic compound produced through a chemical carbonation process. By calcining limestone and reacting it with CO₂, manufacturers can precisely control the particle morphology to create specific shapes like spindles, spheres, or needles.

Key Properties: Ultra-high whiteness, narrow particle size distribution, and high sedimentation volume.

Industrial Value: Its microporous structure and large specific surface area make it ideal for high-end paper, specialized paints, and pharmaceuticals requiring reinforcement and superior brightness.

Industrial Applications
1
40 – 100 Mesh (D97: 425-150μm): Horticulture & Lightweight Concrete
Applications :
Primarily used as a soil amendment for Horticultural Substrates and as a lightweight aggregate for insulating concrete and plasters.
Advantages :
It improves soil aeration and moisture retention, promoting healthy root growth. In construction, it significantly reduces the dead load of buildings while providing excellent fire resistance and thermal insulation.
2
200 – 400 Mesh (D97: 75-38μm): Cryogenic Insulation & Oxygen Systems
Applications :
Essential for Cryogenic Tank Insulation (liquid oxygen/nitrogen storage) and as a filler for lightweight fireproof boards.
Advantages :
At this fineness, it fills the interstitial spaces in double-walled storage tanks, creating a superior thermal barrier that prevents heat boil-off of liquefied gases. Its non-combustible nature ensures maximum safety in high-oxygen environments.
3
800 – 1250 Mesh (D97: 18-10μm): Industrial Filter Aids & Food Processing
Applications :
Widely used as a Filter Aid for the clarification of juices, beverages, and industrial oils.
Advantages :
Its unique microscopic structure effectively traps fine suspended solids and impurities without affecting the flavor or chemical composition of the liquid. It provides a faster flow rate compared to other filtration media.
4
1500 Mesh + (D97: ≤10μm): Specialized Fillers & Paint Matting
Applications :
Functional filler for specialized coatings, high-end plastics, and as a lightweight carrier for chemical catalysts.
Advantages :
The ultra-fine particle size ensures perfect dispersion and high opacity. In coatings, it provides a consistent matte finish and enhances the scrub resistance; in polymers, it improves dimensional stability while maintaining an ultra-low product weight.
