A quotation target includes D50 or D97 and hourly output; mesh alone does not specify the full particle size distribution.
Natural gypsum can be crushed to the mill feed limit and metered into a dry grinding line. Wet FGD gypsum and phosphogypsum can carry higher free water, chlorides or other impurities, so drying, deagglomeration and material testing may be needed before a dry mill. A dry powder route runs from crushing and feeding through milling, classification, collection and storage.
Plaster of Paris production adds calcination, cooling and aging after powder preparation. Calcination removes crystal water and changes the calcium sulfate phase; finer grinding by itself does not make plaster. A line quotation should therefore identify the supplied crusher, dryer, mill, classifier, dust collector, heat system, conveying and packaging equipment separately.
Prepared gypsum enters the grinding zone, where rollers or impact elements reduce particle size. Air carries the powder into a classifier: particles below the selected cut pass to collection, while oversize returns to the mill for another pass.
