Mesh, simple explanation is the particle size and thickness of the material on physics definition, usually defined the screen of 1 square inches area, the materials can just pass the screen, and the number of screen holes is defined as mesh. For example, 200meshes is when the materials can just pass the screen, the number of screen holes is 200. So, the larger of mesh number, the finer of particle size; and the smaller of mesh number, the coarser of particle size.
